Let's Talk
Who's photographing who? What's the story? What has captured her imagination? Then there's the girl in the rain; What happened to her? How can she possibly want to just sit there and not take the offer an umbrella? Your eye may next drift to the colourful village; How is it so colourful? What secrets lay behind those closed doors? But most of all, what about the people, let's talk about them?! There is the Lady with the huge eyes and her gentleman friend intently listening to the scandal of the day and the Lady with her back to us, is the strange man with the glasses her suitor or just a voyeur? The story sits quietly on this canvas. What do you think? What do you see. What will we find? Let's Talk!
Are You Being Framed?
I always dreamed of being a famous fashion designer as my passion for fabrics, movement and style has always been at the forefront of my mind. Having never been very tall or had the figure to model, I decided to create my own fashion show...on canvas! In Are You Being Framed?, the main character had to be original yet quirky. The model's hair had to be outrageously styled to avoid an every-day-look and I imagined them preening themselves, instead of looking at a mirror. The idea envisaged having the models appear as though they are looking through their own individual frames like a conveyor belt as everyone in the audience catches a glimpse of all their clothes and styles. Let the Fashion Show begin!
Bowie To My Music
As David Bowie once said, "I had to resign myself, many years ago, that I'm not too articulate when explaining how I feel about things. But my music does it for me, it really does" and that's how I feel about my art!
Live The Life You Love
My favourite times are when I’m in the sunshine. There is nothing better than sitting in the sun with someone enjoying everything life has to offer. Live The Life You Love just bottles up all those lovely days I spent sitting in the garden, either on holiday or working. On most of those dreamy occasions when abroad I was surrounded by beautiful settings with the sea in the background watching incredible boats go by...all through the love of my sunglasses!
Elephant Ride
On a trip to India my dream came true to finally ride my most favourite animal, an elephant. Ever since, I so wanted to create a beautiful elephant with all the lovely jewels and paintings they are adorned with so, as per usual, I added a little humour by seating a fun lady having a drink (maybe even me?!) on an elephant to showcase my best elephant ride on canvas.
Kiss Your Money Goodbye
I love playing the lottery every week but it really annoys me that I never ever win anything! The more I play, the more I think what a waste so I decided to do a fun picture kissing my money goodbye...that really says it all!
Disaster Cake! Life Life Bake!
I was out at a café and I saw this poor waitress who tripped over and in the process ended up launching all different cakes all over the place. I thought it would make a remarkable painting so Disaster Cake! Live Life Bake! is my take on what I interpreted to be a humorous moment.
Cybertrunk
I didn’t know what to call this painting so I decided to call it Cybertrunk as it looks like a character out of a video game my kids used to play. She looks like an extremely confident, positive woman with lots of Panaz who could defend and win any battle. Don't we all need a strong woman in our lives? So why not Cybertrunk?!
The Stylist
Loving Life! What could be better than being styled by someone else. The stylist being the perfectionist that he makes sure every strand of hair is in place creating the glamorous look that takes you to another level and makes you feel wow!
Summer Days
I love being on a boat in the south of France with friends having a great time. Using such fond memories, I wanted to recreate one of the beautiful days I spent there with friends and just looking at this painting takes me back to those happy times. I hope this painting takes you back to your own happy place too!
Selfie
Social media has really taken over and we are constantly photographing ourselves in selfies. So when I painted Selfie I was thinking of a girls get-together, either at a spa or getting ready to go on that big night out...something we have all missed during lockdown!
The Fashion Show
Every model was on a journey. Some had finished, others were just beginning and some had challenges ahead of them. All had one thing in common; breast cancer. At any moment many women can be actively fighting Breast Cancer making it important for women like me to show the world that we are not defined by our breasts. We are different shapes and sizes but we all have the same goal to show the world that we are only human. Our dreams need to be nurtured so that we may inspire a positive mindset and soar above the rest. So as we step down from centre stage, we know life carries on, but in that moment we discover that our inner strength is what carries us off stage to prepare to embark on a new journey.
Car Crash
I don't know about you but I hate sitting in traffic jams! Originally I had named this painting after exactly that until the Art Link gallery (who exhibited this painting at Red Dot, Miami) pointed out that it looks more like a car crash with all the cars stacked up high on top of each other. From there, I decided to tell a different story but can you guess what it is? I would love to hear from you and see where your imagination takes you!
Piano Man
"As the pianist sat on his stool and his fingers danced on the keys, the lady was swept away by the music". My inference of this story is shown by the notes drifting upwards, just like the woman's mind is wondering helplessly in awe of the pianist's playing, and the whole room became an explosion of colour.
Play Your Cards Right!
You never know when you'll be dealt good cards, that's just life's gamble!
The Rave (London Buses)
See MeBedroom Frolics
I love creating stories in my paintings. I will let you imagine what comes next!
